Have you ever thought about the maintenance services of your city?

Cidadão 156 at International Architecture Biennale of São Paulo 2019

Cidadão 156 is an urban data visualisation project presented at XII São Paulo Biennale under the theme Everyday (Todo dia).

The municipality of São Paulo (PMSP) offers a maintenance service called SP156 that allows citizens to alert about issues in the city via email, phone and mobile application. So, the project maps the requests received through these channels, exploring the theme of daily maintenance over one of the biggest cities in the world, São Paulo. Analysing the type of services from repairs in alleys, streets, cleaning of drains till the pruning of trees over the past four years (2015-2018). The project reflects on this invisible layer of routines of care in the urban environment in relation to the social vulnerability and collective urban spaces.
